You may be wondering… what does a winter maintenance company do throughout the warmer months? At Nationwide Gritting, we may not be clearing snow, but it’s still a busy time for us. One of the main tasks is renewing all of our accreditations – so our customers can feel confident in our compliance year-in, year-out.
Why Our Accreditations Are Important To Us
1. Safety and Risk Management: Compliance with regulations reduces the risk of accidents and ensures our hazard assessments are stringent.
2. Legal and Regulatory Requirements: As well as being legally compliant, it’s important that we adhere to environmental standards too.
3. Quality Assurance: Accreditations come with benchmarks for service quality, ensuring that we provide reliable and effective gritting and snow clearance services.
4. Operational Efficiency: By becoming more efficient, we’re able to provide a better service. And thanks to periodic reviews, it ensures continual improvement.
5. Reputation and Trust: It’s crucial for us that our customers have complete faith in our service.
Find out more about the accreditations we have at Nationwide Gritting:
SafeContractor
Each year, we renew our SafeContractor accreditation. Alcumus SafeContractor Ltd is now accredited as a Type C Inspection Body in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012. It puts greater emphasis on an organisation’s ability to remain impartial and effectively manage conflicts of interest.
It also encourages us to put a magnifying glass on our employees’ competence, the processes we use, and our equipment to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our customers and regulatory bodies.
It’s a peer-reviewed process that is recognised around the world, and it’s also endorsed by the UK Government.
Greenlight
Another accreditation that we renew each year is Greenlight, a professional assessment process which has been approved by Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). This ensures we are compliant with current legislation and best practice in accordance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 – Guidance 8.
Reset
Compliance without compromise! Reset is a competence-verification system that saves time and resources in the process of admitting third-party contractors onto any site, ensuring compliance with HSE and CDM obligations.
This leads to efficiency throughout the business. By simply checking a Reset card, we can bring workers onto site and verify that they have all the skills and qualifications necessary, without wading through reams of paperwork. This is another accreditation that we renew annually.
ISO 9001
This 3-year accreditation is audited yearly to ensure our processes are up to date. ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard that introduces continuous improvement into organisations. It helps us to instil and continuously monitor quality, building resilience across the entire organisation.
It also provides us with the framework we need to consistently meet our customers’ expectations and regulatory requirements.
